Okay we have officially had our first and second hiccups. It all started on sunday when I went to assign seats on some of upcoming flights. So I call Aeromexico....a trial in and of itself. I give them the confirmation code. They tell me there is a schedule change..okay. They say, "We have cancelled your flight on the 22nd and rebooked you on the 13:15 flight on the 21st". My reply is that we cannot make that flight as we will not be in LA until that evening, what are my other options? After a few minutes he comes back and tells me there is a flight on the 23rd at 13:15. Great I say, except for the fact we will be stuck at LAX overnight. He offers a hotel and food vouchers. After some thought I must agree that is the best thing to do as every other option will be costly(changing other flights). He must get supervisor permission.....there is no supervisor around, will I call back monday morning.
I call back monday morning, they see all the notes from sunday and try to find a supervisor. No supervisor. They say they will call me back. After the morning passes I call them back and am on the phone with them for 45 minutes and still no supervisor..call back around 4pm. I call back and yes we find a supervisor...bad news they will not offer us the other flight on the 23rd, as the second leg is on a different carrier, its the 21st or a full refund! What to do....I will call them back.
After dicussion with Jeff and internet search, we decide the best thing to do would be to get a full refund and rebook on a different airline for $250 more than our original booking cost. ( better than trying to fly standby or changing tickets) By 10:00pm on monday I have refunded and bought new tickets. I am exhausted.
Our second hiccup is our renters have backed away because she has developed an allergy and perhaps cats are the trigger. So we are searching once again for renters....Wish us luck!

  3. Wow! What an ordeal. But it sounds like you are getting all the hiccups over with now, so while you are traveling it will be hiccup free.

I'm so excited for all of you... and for me too because I get to hear all about it.

May your grand adventures be filled with joy and may they flow just like a gentle river.

    Lots of Love.
